Als je denkt dat Aletta Teunen voor haar sieraden het ene historische grachtenpand na het andere bekijkt, heb je het mis. “Het loslaten van het traditionele beeld en het vertalen naar vorm spreekt mij aan,” zegt ze. Zoals bijvoorbeeld bij rij panden, een vrije vorm die met één lijn is getekend. Ook is Aletta gefascineerd is door bouwwerken zoals deze in Rotterdam: “De moderne stad is voor mij blokken, stapels, lijnen, spiegelingen en nog meer blokjes!”
If you think Aletta Teunen looks at one historic canal house after another for her jewellery, you are wrong. “Letting go of the traditional image and translating into form appeals to me,” she says. As, for example, in this row of buildings, a free form drawn in a single line. Aletta is also fascinated by buildings like these one in Rotterdam: “To me, the modern city is blocks, stacks, lines, reflections and more blocks!”
