Haar grootvader was schilder van beroep en Doris groeide op met kleur. Zelf houdt ze van het kleurenspel van de stoffen die ze ontdekt op reis. Ze stelt zich hun transparantie voor en de technische geschiktheid voor haar sieraden. Daarvoor heeft ze ook simpele, sculpturale vormen nodig – zoals deze kersenpitten – die ze kan combineren zodat er een ritme en contrast ontstaat.

Her grandfather was a professional painter and Doris grew up with colour. She herself loves the play of colours of the fabrics she discovers while travelling. She imagines their transparency and technical suitability for her jewellery. To do this, she also needs simple, sculptural shapes – like these cherry stones – that she can combine to create rhythm and contrast.
