Eline de Visser is altijd fan geweest van ‘Het begin van de wereld’ van Brancusi. Over dit beeldhouwwerk, beter bekend als ‘Het Ei’ zegt ze: “Het is een krachtig kunstwerk door zijn eenvoud; het gladde ontwerp in combinatie met de verschillende groentinten van het gebruikte materiaal. Volgens de kunstenaar stelt de vorm de volmaakte schoonheid voor.” Geen wonder dat er boven Eline’s werkbank een papier hangt met de afkorting KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid, een kreet van de US Navy uit 1960. “Dit is ook wat ik probeer te bereiken. Een krachtig sieraad in zijn eenvoud, met een twist om het spannend te houden”.
Eline de Visser has always been a fan of Brancusi’s ‘The Beginning of the World’. About this sculpture, better known as ‘The Egg’, she says: “It is a powerful work of art because of its simplicity; the smooth design combined with the different shades of green of the material used. According to the artist, the shape represents perfect beauty.” No wonder there is a paper hanging above Eline’s workbench with the acronym KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid, a 1960 US Navy slogan. “This is also what I try to achieve. A powerful piece of jewellery in its simplicity, with a twist to keep it exciting”.
